Vipers Split Series with Warriors

Edinburg, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (17-14), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (17-14) 121-111 on Thursday night at Bert Ogden Arena.

The first five minutes of the game consisted of a back-and-forth battle between both teams. With 7:02 to go the game was tied 13-13, but RGV took over the remainder of the quarter which allowed the team to walk away with a 36-26 lead at the end of the first.

RGV continued to extend its lead in the second quarter and sent the game into halftime with a score of 67-57. The Vipers continued with the lead throughout the third quarter and sent the game into the fourth with a 100-84 advantage.

During the fourth quarter RGV sealed the deal and walked away with a 121-111 victory.

Houston Rockets Two-Way player Darius Days paved the way for the Vipers with 29 points. Houston Rockets assignment TyTy Washington Jr. posted a triple-double with 19 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. Jalen Lecque, Ray Spalding and Houston Rockets Two-Way player Trevor Hudgins all finished with 13 points each. Willie Cauley-Stein put up 12 points.
