
Vipers Fall 126-119 to Warriors

Edinburg, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (16-14), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, fell 126-119 to the Santa Cruz Warriors (17-13) on Tuesday night at Bert Ogden Arena.
The game started off in a tight race. During the first three minuteS, RGV trailed by just one point with a score of 7-6. With less than six minutes to go Santa Cruz had its biggest lead of the quarter with a score of 21-11. As the quarter progressed, RGV decreased the Warriors lead by three points which sent the game into the second quarter with a 32-29 lead for Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz maintained the lead for the majority of the second quarter until the Vipers came from behind and changed things with a few seconds left in the quarter. With 53 seconds left on the clock, the Vipers tied the game 61-61. After that, RGV scored one more basket which sent the game into halftime with a 63-61 lead for the Vipers.
RGV started off with the lead in the third quarter, but with 10:53 on the clock the Warriors tied the game 66-66. The Vipers then once again pulled away with a 74-73 lead, but with 6:30 left the Warriors came from behind and took the lead for the remainder of the game which set the score at 85-82.
The Warriors dominated the fourth quarter which allowed the team to walk away with a 126-119 victory.
Houston Rockets assignment TyTy Washington Jr. scored 33 points. Houston Rockets Two-Way player Darius Days obtained a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Trhae Mitchell contributed 16 points. Jarrett Culver posted 12 points followed by Houston Rockets Two-Way player Trevor Hudgins who had a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. Ray Spalding finished the night with a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Santa Cruz Warriors Two-Way player Lester Quinones paved the way for Santa Cruz with 23 points. Jerome Robinson finished with 21 points. Dusty Hannahs and Elijah Pemberton both finished the night with 17 points each. Gui Santos came off the bench and scored 16 points. Jayce Robinson posted 17 rebounds.
