
Vipers Drop Game to San Lorenzo in FIBA Intercontinental Cup

TENERIFE, Spain - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers fell to San Lorenzo de Almagro on Sunday morning in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup 3rd place matchup, 90-96, in Santiago Martin Arena. Jarell Martin earned his first double-double with the Vipers with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
RGV trailed in the first quarter 19-27, but made a comeback in the second when they outscored San Lorenzo 29-18. The second half of the matchup was kept even throughout, but San Lorenzo came up on top in the fourth quarter.
The Vipers were led in points by Isaiah Taylor as he racked up 19 points, contributing two rebounds, four assists and a lone steal. Three other players hit the double-digits for RGV; Martin (16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists), Jabari Brown (14 points, two assists, four steals) and Brandon Sampson (12 points, two rebounds, two assists).
San Lorenzo were led by Dar Tucker's game-high of 21 points adding three rebounds and two steals. The squad had four players who also hit double figures.
RGV shot 43.5% from the field and hit 19 three-pointers while San Lorenzo shot 51.4% from the field and totaled 25 three-pointers.
