
Veteran NFL receiver Jacquez Green signs with Alouettes

Montreal, May 18, 2004 - Montreal Alouettes' General Manager Jim Popp announced today the signing of veteran NFL receiver Jacquez Green, who is expected at the team's training camp which kicks off this Sunday in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
Green is a five-year NFL veteran who spent four years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and finished his NFL career with the Detroit Lions in 2002. During those five seasons, he started 37 of the 66 games he played in and caught 162 passes for gains of 2311 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
Green is a versatile athlete who can also return punts and kicks. In his first two seasons in Tampa Bay, he returned 20 kicks for 414 yards and one touchdown, and 53 punts for 607 yards and another score.
He played college ball at the University of Florida under Head Coach Steve Spurrier. Green is 28 years old.
