
Esks' add fifth quarterback to camp roster

(Edmonton) The defending Grey Cup champion Edmonton Eskimos announced today the signing of former Eastern Washington University quarterback Josh Blankenship.
Blankenship spent four years at the University of Tulsa before transferring to Eastern Washington for his final year of eligibility. During his 31 game career at Tulsa, Blankenship passed for 5,273 yards and 21 touchdowns. In 2001 he led Tulsa to it's best finish in nine seasons. After transferring to Eastern Washington in 2002, he enjoyed a banner campaign for the Eagles, setting 10 school records in his only season at the helm. Blankenship earned All-Big Sky Conference honours as he completed 250 of 418 passes (59.8%) for 3,243 yards, 30 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions.
Blankenship was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins in August 2003 and was released in September.
