ROUND ROCK, Texas - INF/OF Mark Teahen has been assigned to Triple-A Round Rock after signing a minor league contract on May 23. To make room for him on the Express active roster, infielder Alex Buchholz has been transferred to Double-A Frisco.

Teahen (pronounced TEA-en) is a seven-year major league veteran with 831 games played between three teams at the major league level. The career .264 hitter's most recent time in the big leagues was with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2011. He played 22 games with the Reno Aces this season, batting .211 with five RBI, but was placed on the disabled list May 4-11. He had been traded from the Diamondbacks to the Cincinnati Reds on May 1 for a player to be named later but was returned due to injury.

Teahen worked out at the Rangers spring training complex in Surprise, Ariz. yesterday before reporting to the Express in Memphis today.

Round Rock opens an eight-game road trip tonight in Memphis with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. For more information on the Express, visit www.RoundRockExpress.com or call (512) 255-2255. Keep up with the Express on Facebook and Twitter!
