Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. â Marc Magliarditi made 35 saves and six different players scored for the Las Vegas Wranglers in a 6-2 win over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 5,063 fans at Centennial Garden on Friday evening.
The Condors fell behind just 44 seconds into the game on a Doug Wright goal. From then on, the Condors dominated the remainder of the first, however, putting 19 shots on goal and playing a physical game. It paid off when Todd Alexander picked up a loose puck at center ice, drove deep into the zone and found Paul Rosebush in front for the equalizer and Rosebush's 19th of the season. He has 99 goals in his Condors career. The first period ended 1-1.
Vegas regained the lead for good in the second period. Tom Nelson and Dave Cousineau scored to make it 3-1 Vegas and end G Shane Bendera's night. He stopped 12 of 15 shots and was replaced at 10:04 of the second. The Wranglers added another tally, this one on Joe Watkins guard, to make it 4-1. Johan Astrom pulled the Condors within two with his 24th of the year on a wraparound late in the second.
Power plays led to the final two tallies of the night for the Wranglers, as they scored on a pair of two-man advantages to bring the final score to 6-2, despite a 37-26 shot advantage for Bakersfield.
