Vegas Evens Series with 17-10 Win over OKC

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Former Houston Astro Jason Lane drove in five runs and led the Las Vegas 51s (56-57) to a 17-10 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (49-64) before 7,573 Thursday at Cashman Field.

Las Vegas reliever Ronald Uviedo (1-0) allowed a Jake Goebbert home run over one inning in a winning decision. Oklahoma City starter Dallas Keuchel (0-1) allowed 11 earned runs and 12 hits over three and one-thirds innings for the loss.

Oklahoma City hit three first inning home runs off Las Vegas starter Scott Richmond. Collin Delome hit a solo shot before two-run home runs from Chris Johnson and Koby Clemens opened a 5-0 OKC lead.

Las Vegas countered with a five-run bottom of the frame, with a throwing error, an Adam Loewen RBI single, a Chris Woodward RBI double, a Ricardo Nanita sacrifice fly and Manny Mayorson single bringing in runs for a 5-5 score.

The 51s added four runs in the second on a Lane RBI single, tow-run double from Loewen and an RBI single from Woodward for a 9-5 Las Vegas lead.

Oklahoma City clawed back into the game in the third inning with a Goebbert two-run double for a 9-7 score. Oswaldo Navarro next singled in another run for a 9-8 game. The RedHawks tied the game on a J.R. Towles RBI double in the fourth inning for a 9-9 deadlock.

Lane moved the 51s away in the fourth with a two-run home run, opening an 11-9 score.

After the RedHawks got back within a run in the fifth inning on a Goebbert solo home run, Las Vegas scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Mike McCoy singled in a run, Lane drove in two runs on a double, Chris Woodward singled in two more before a Nanita groundout ended the scoring at 17-10.
