Drew Macias had three RBIs in his first game with Tucson, as the Padres beat New Orleans 7-4 Thursday. Macias was 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and a tie-breaking, two-run double in the sixth inning. The former San Diego Padres outfielder was signed by the Padres and assigned to Tucson today. Tucson starter Rob Musgrave allowed just two earned runs in 5.2 innings in his third Triple-A start and did not allow a hit until the fourth inning. Will Inman was the winning pitcher and has not allowed a run in his last five innings out of the bullpen.
The Padres scored once each in the first three innings. Eric Patterson hit his second home run of the season in the first, and Macias hit a sacrifice fly in the second. Matt Clark's two out, RBI single in the third gave the Padres their third run and gave Clark his 71st RBI of the year. Kielty was 3-for-4 with an RBI in the game.
The Padres have now won two straight games after being swept in Salt Lake. The T-Pads home record is 28-28 and their overall record is 52-60.
