Valiquette recalled by Rangers

New York, February 14, 2007 -- New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that goaltender Stephen Valiquette has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL), while goaltender Kevin Weekes has been placed on Injured Reserve due to a strained quadricep muscle that was suffered in yesterday's practice.

Valiquette, 29, has posted a 17-12-0 record, along with a 2.34 goals against average and a .909 save percentage in 30 games with Hartford (AHL) this season. Among AHL goaltending leaders, he currently ranks sixth with a 2.34 goals against average and is tied for seventh with 17 wins and two shutouts. In his last 10 games, Valiquette has recorded seven wins, along with a 2.21 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.

Weekes, 31, has appeared in 14 games with the Rangers this season, posting a 4-6-2 record, along with a 3.39 goals against average and an .879 save percentage.
