Utah Flash To Host Iowa Energy To Open 2009-10 NBA Development League Playoffs

OREM, UT, April 5, 2010 - It was announced today that the Utah Flash will take on the Iowa Energy in the first round of the 2009-10 NBA Development League Playoffs. The game will take place Wednesday April 7 at 7 p.m. at the McKay Events Center.

The Eastern Conference champion Iowa Energy, the D-League's #1 overall seed, elected to face the Utah Flash in the opening round. The #2 seeded Rio Grande Valley Vipers, champions of the Western Conference, then chose to take on the Reno Bighorns. Austin, seeded #3, picked Dakota, leaving Sioux Falls and Tulsa as the remaining opening round matchup.

In their only meeting of the season the Iowa Energy used a balanced scoring attack to drop the Utah Flash 126-112 at the McKay Events Center. Iowa, who boasts the best record in the league, had eight players score in double figures. Leading scorers for the Flash were Andre Ingram and Brian Hamilton, tied with 18, while the Energy were led by Cartier Martin and Othyus Jeffers with 24 and 20 points, respectively.

Utah will host the first game of the best-of-three series with the second and, if necessary, third games being played in Iowa. The games in Iowa will be on Friday at 7 p.m. CST and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. CST.
