MCALLEN, TEXAS - The Western Conference Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that, with the second pick of opponents for the first round of the 2010 NBA Development League Playoffs, they chose the Reno Bighorns.

Game one will take place on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Reno Events Center. The Vipers will host games two and three (if necessary) on Monday, April 12 and Tuesday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. at State Farm Arena.

Single-game playoff tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Vipers, Ticketmaster or the State Farm Arena box office.

Vipers season ticket holders also can purchase a playoff package that includes tickets to all six potential Vipers home playoff games at the discounted per-game price of their regular season tickets. Tickets to any games not played may be applied towards renewal of 2010-11 season tickets or may be redeemed for a refund following the conclusion of the playoffs.

The Vipers went 3-1 against the Bighorns and 2-0 at State Farm Arena this season, including a nationally televised 109-76 victory on February 6 in which the Vipers broke the franchise record for margin of victory and tied the franchise record for fewest points allowed in a single game.

The Bighorns are led by former-Vipers guard Desmon Farmer, who is also the NBA Development League's all-time leading scorer with 3,379 points. Vipers guard Will Conroy is in second place, 125 points behind Farmer.

The NBA Development League is using an expanded playoff format this season. Each of the three rounds of playoffs will use a best-of-three format, with the lower seed hosting game one and the higher seed hosting games two and three if necessary.
