Urquhart, Jamtin Assigned to Hartford

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced that forward Andreas Jamtin has been reassigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League by the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. Also, the Checkers announced that defenseman David Urquhart has been reassigned to Hartford by the Wolf Pack.

Jamtin, 6-foot-0, 192 pounds, was a fifth round selection of the Detroit Red Wings during the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He dressed in five games for the Checkers this year garnering three goals and two assists for five points and 17 penalty minutes. This past off-season, he signed a free agent deal with the Rangers and started the year off with the Wolf Pack playing in three games with the club but not scoring a point. Jamtin has played the last three years with HV71 Jonkoping of the Swedish Elite League. During that time, he played in 108 games scoring 32 goals and 25 assists for 57 points with 345 penalty minutes.

Urquhart, 6-feet-0, 190 pounds, has dressed in all seven Checkers games this year registering five assists. Before turning pro, he played four seasons of Canadian Interuniversity Sports for McGill University. The Thorold, Ontario defenseman dressed in 86 games scoring 13 goals and 57 assists for 70 points with 190 penalty minutes.
