Bombers Fall At Home To Jownstown 4-2

Fairborn, Ohio -- The Dayton Bombers fall on home ice to the Johnstown Chiefs 4-2 to end the brief two-game homestand Sunday night.

Things started badly for the Bombers in the first period when they gave up a shorthanded goal to Johnstown's Andrew Sarauer at the 6:24 mark. The Chiefs made it 2-0 on a power play goal at 7:58 of the first by Randy Rowe before Justin Bowers scored his second goal of the season at 11:18 with assists from Mike McLean and Joe Van Culin to make it 2-1 after one.

The Bombers tied the game at 1:41 of the second as Mike McLean scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Nathan Schwartzbauer. After that it was all Johnstown with two more second period goals by the same connection, Jon Landry from Matt Robinson and Ryan Delmonte (at 4:39 and a power play goal at 15:13).

There was no scoring in the third period though the Bombers had some power play opportunities. For the night, Dayton was 0 for 5 on power plays and outshot 28-21.
