
Thunder rolls to win against Condors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors fell, 8-3, against the Stockton Thunder before 5,204 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night.
The Condors (2-3-1, 5 points) opened up a 2-0 lead in the first period, scoring twice in the span of 2:13. RW Liam Huculak netted his second of the season at 5:51, and then C Dave Bonk redirected a shot home on the power play for his first of the season at 8:04. The Thunder (3-4-0, 6 points) came back and pulled within a goal at 8:49 with C Jeff Kyrzakos recording his first of the season.
The second period belonged to Stockton, as they put five goals up on the board to take command of the game. They erased the Condors lead just 47 seconds into the frame, and later chased starting G Dave McKee from the net, as G Joey Perricone tooke over for the Condors 4:26 into the frame. LW Mark Derlago, playing in just his second game, found the back of the net at 12:57 with his fourth goal of year to make the score 6-3 heading into the intermission.
The Condors out-shot Stockton, 15-10, in the third period, but it was the Thunder who added to their lead, scoring two tallies in the final frame to account for the 8-3 final score. McKee suffered the loss for Bakersfield, while Derlago now has six points in two games for the Condors.
