FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights continue their home stand through Sunday beginning tonight with four games against the Gwinnett Braves.
Thursday August 19 - The Knights will host "Homer's Heroes" tonight at Knights Stadium where the police departments of Charlotte, Fort Mill, and the York County Sheriff will square off in a tug-of-war against the fire departments of Charlotte, Fort Mill, Flint Hill and Rock Hill. Ultimately it will pair the winning team from North Carolina vs. the winning team of South Carolina. The Homer's Heroes Challenge will happen prior to the Charlotte Knights 7:15 PM game against the Gwinnett Braves. A portion of online ticket purchases at charlotteknights.com will go to benefit the "Homer's Heroes" sponsored charities.
Friday August 20th - The first 1,000 kids ages 12 & under that come to the Knights 7:15 PM game against the Gwinnett Braves will receive backpacks courtesy of Levine Children's Hospital and Time Warner Cable.
Saturday August 21st - The Charlotte Knights and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) are teaming up to host the 3rd Annual "Swing to Cure Diabetes" sponsored by Atlas Copco this Saturday. A portion of ticket proceeds from the game against the Gwinnett Braves will go directly to JDRF, a global leader in the charitable funding and advocacy of type 1 diabetes research. The Knights players will be wearing special blue jersey's which will be sold during the game as part of a silent auction.
Sunday August 22nd - The Knights will finish the home stand with a 2:15 PM game against the Gwinnett Braves. It will be a chance for kids to run the bases following the game sponsored by Discovery Place. All Sunday's are BB&T Family Sundays.
