Union host San Jose Earthquakes on Dollar Dog Day at PPL Park

Chester, Pa. (April 25, 2011) - After a bye week, Philadelphia Union (3-1-1, 10 points) will face the San Jose Earthquakes (1-3-2, 5 points) at PPL Park on Saturday, April 30, at 4:00 p.m. EST. San Jose arrive in Philadelphia following a 2-1 loss to Chivas USA at home this weekend, a result that sent them to the bottom of the Western Conference table. The match will be broadcast live on 6abc with a 30-minute pregame show starting at 3:30 p.m. EST.

Saturday's home game will be Dietz & Watson Dollar Dog Day, which will enable fans to purchase up to four $1 hot dogs per concession stand trip, with no overall limit. The match will also be Autism Awareness Night. Union players will be wearing blue shoe laces in support of the cause and the Autism Society of America Greater Philadelphia Chapter will be in attendance.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Zach Pfeffer competed with the U-17 U.S. Men's National Team'95s in the 2011 Mondial Minimes Montaigu Tournament held in Montaigu, France from April 18-26. The U.S. U-17 MNT lost 3-1 to Portugal, and 2-1 to both France and Japan on April 20, April 21 and April 23, respectively, as part of the 39th edition of the tournament. The U.S. finished the tournament with their only victory, a 4-1 win against Uruguay on April 25.
