New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The University of Connecticut Baseball Team - a nationally recognized squad that is loaded with homegrown talent - is coming to New Britain Stadium this Friday night (4/22) to square off with Big East rival, Georgetown. This special evening of college baseball in the Hardware City is intended to both make it easier for fans in this area to experience this exciting Husky team in person, while simultaneously giving these young players an opportunity to perform on the Rock Cats' professional diamond. Everybody wins!
The evening will also represent a homecoming of sorts for UConn Outfielder George Springer, an outstanding all-around player who hails from New Britain; George is one of 17 Huskies who call the Nutmeg State home!
UConn Coach Jim Penders' team has been a roll of late, winning 11 of their last 13. They will attempt to continue their winning ways at 6:00 PM on Friday night against a Hoya squad that boasts five players with New England connections of their own.
Fans interested in securing tickets for Friday night's game may get them by either visiting the New Britain Stadium Box Office (M-F, 10 AM to 6 PM), or calling the Rock Cats Ticket Office at (860) 224-8383.
