
Tyler Webb joins Kernels from Elizabethton

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that OF Tyler Webb will join the Kernels from Elizabethton and INF Estamy Urena has been released from the roster. Brian Maloney, Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the moves.
The Twins selected Webb in the 40th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Prosper (TX) HS. He split last season between the GCL Twins and Elizabethton, batting .287 with a HR and 16 RBI.
Urena joined the Kernels on April 28 and in 43 games, was batting .225 (29-129) with a HR and 11 RBI. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2016.
Webb is active and available for tonight's 5:05 PM game with Burlington. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the injured list and one player on the temporary inactive list.
The Kernels begin a short, two-game home stand against Burlington tonight at 5:05 PM. The home stand continues through Friday, July 5th.
