Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled center Tyler Kennedy from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced Saturday by General Manager Ray Shero.
Kennedy, 21, recorded five points (3+2) in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's first six games. The second-year pro was named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending October 7, after picking up five points in two games to pace the league at that time.
Selected in the fourth round (99th overall) of the 2004 Entry Draft, Kennedy posted 37 points (12+25) in 40 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season. He missed half of the campaign due to an abdominal injury.
Kennedy played four seasons for his hometown Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL), recording 184 points (64+120) in 249 career games.
This is the first career NHL recall for Kennedy.
