Hurricanes Return Bayda To Albany

Albany River Rats News Release


ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that the Carolina Hurricanes reassigned left wing Ryan Bayda to Albany.

Bayda, who led the River Rats with 29 goals in 2006-07, scored his first goal of the season for Albany 32 seconds into the first period on October 19th versus Manchester. The 26-year old appeared in three games for the Hurricanes after being recalled on October 21st and has played in a total of four NHL games with the ‘Canes this year. Bayda was a third round draft pick (80th overall) by Carolina in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft; the Hurricanes re-signed the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native as a free agent in August of 2006.

The River Rats have a 5:00 pm matinee date with the Hershey Bears Sunday October 28th at GIANT Arena in Pennsylvania. Albany's next home game comes next Wednesday, October 31, 2007 against the Toronto Marlies, a 7:00 pm face off at the Times Union Center.
