AMARILLO, TX â Just as the Meatloaf song states âTwo out of Three Ain't Bad, and for the Amarillo Gorillas that was the case in Central Hockey League action this past week.
The Gorillas took four out of a possible six points and remain in the thick of the Northern Conference playoff picture with a record of 21-12-0 for 42 points with four more games on the schedule this week. Amarillo trail the Tulsa Oilers and the Indianapolis Ice by seven points with five games in hand on the Oilers and three games in hand on the Ice.
Amarillo has won 13 of their last 17 games and nine of their last 10 games on home ice.
The Gorillas host the Corpus Christi Rayz tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center and then head on the road for two of their next three games. The weekend schedule begins with the Gorillas first and only trip to Fort Worth to face the Brahmas on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at the Fort Worth Convention Center and then it is back home for their first ever game against the defending CHL Champion Memphis RiverKings at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. The Gorillas close out the weekend with a trio to Lubbock to face the Cotton Kings on Sunday at 6 p.m.

AMARILLO GORILLAS 9 â OKLAHOMA CITY BLAZERS 2
The Amarillo Gorillas fired four second period goals and went on to humble the Oklahoma City Blazers 9-2 on Tuesday night at The Jungle. Derek Hahn, Brandon Carper and Henry Kuster each had two goals for the Gorillas and goaltender Steve DeBus posted his 13th win of the season. Single goals came off the sticks of Dorian Anneck, Scott Wray and John Dean. Dave Rattray and Brandon Carper each set up two goals.
NEW MEXICO SCORPIONS 3 â AMARILLO GORILLAS 1
The Amarillo Gorillas fell behind 2-0 through 40 minutes and were beaten by the New Mexico Scorpions 3-1 at The Jungle on Friday night. It was the Gorillas first loss on home ice in eight games. Dorian Anneck had the lone Gorillas goal in the third period.
AMARILLO GORILLAS 5 â SAN ANGELO SAINTS 4 (OT)
Henry Kuster fired the game winning goal in overtime to lift the Amarillo Gorillas to a 5-4 victory over the San Angelo Saints on Saturday night in front of more than 4,100 fans on Retro Night.
The Gorillas rallied from a 4-2 deficit with goals in the second and third period to force the extra session. John Dean had a pair of goals for Amarillo, while Derek Hahn and Eric Andersen picked up singles. Defenseman Ryan Shannon and Mark DeSantis each had two assists. The gorillas were wearing their special tie-dye jerseys for this contest

The first 500 fans receive a souvenir puck courtesy of Sonic America's Drive In. It is also Military Appreciation night and the Gorillas will wear their camouflage jerseys and an auction follows in the Ape Escape after the game.
