Indianapolis Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that all-star goaltender Shawn Silver was selected as this week's CHL Goaltender of the Week. He becomes the first four-time winner of the award this season, topping Austin's Matt Barnes who has collected the honors on three occasions this year.

Silver, who also has a CHL Goaltender of the Month Award on his mantle this season, was sharp once again last weekend as he went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .963 save percentage (52/54) in wins over Wichita and Odessa.

He is currently riding another hot streak between the pipes as he is 9-1-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .929 save percentage in his last ten outings. Overall, he enters this week's play second in the CHL in GAA (1.80) and save percentage (.933) and tied for third in wins (17) and shutouts (3).

The Ice is home for three games this week starting with a Wednesday night meeting with the Tulsa Oilers at 7:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum. The Ice is then home for a double dip with Wichita on Friday and Saturday night. Friday's contest will be played at Conseco Fieldhouse, while Saturday's game is at the Pepsi Coliseum. Both face-offs are slated for 7:00 p.m.
