Carolina Mudcats News Release

Zebulon, NC --- The Cincinnati Reds have made a series of player transactions affecting their Double-A affiliate Carolina Mudcats prior to tonight's series opener in Huntsville.

Two Mudcats have gone separate ways as C Brian Peterson has been reassigned to the Triple-A Louisville Bats after hitting .323 over nine games with the Mudcats, including hitting Carolina's only grand slam of the season last week against Tennessee. RHP Chris Kelly has been returned to the Sarasota Reds of the Florida State League. Kelly was 0-1 with a 4.69 ERA over his five appearances with Carolina.

Replacing Peterson and Kelly on the active roster are a pair of players who have spent all of 2009 with Sarasota - C Jason Bour and RHP Enerio Del Rosario. Bour, a 23-year-old from Washington, DC, joins the Mudcats after hitting .263 with 14 RBI in 44 games with the Reds. Bour was drafted from George Mason in the 23rd round of the 2007 draft. Del Rosario has fashioned another stellar season, following up a 2008 campaign in Dayton where he compiled a 1.16 ERA with the Dragons before a promotion to Sarasota to complete the '08 season. Del Rosario was 2-1 with seven saves with Sarasota in '09 with an ERA of 1.98. Del Rosario had 33 strikeouts and just six walks in 50 innings. Both will be in uniform tonight against Huntsville.

The Mudcats' roster remains at the Southern League limit of 24 players.
