CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Mobile shortstop Pedro Ciriaco collected three hits and five RBIs to lead the Mobile BayBears to a 6-4 win over the Lookouts in Tuesday night action at AT&T Field.

Lookouts starting pitcher Steve Johnson, making his debut for Chattanooga, encountered some early jitters. The righty began the game by hitting Chris Rahle.

Ciriaco followed with an RBI triple to give the BayBears the early lead. Ricardo Sosa eventually followed with a sacrifice fly to center to put the score at 2-0.

The Lookouts halved their faced deficit in the bottom portion of the first on a Josh Bell RBI single.

Chattanooga tied-up the score in the second on a Ramon Nivar triple and subsequent Andrew Lambo sacrifice fly to right field.

Meanwhile, Johnson settled down and showed signs of dominance, striking out eight batters through four innings; however, he ran out of steam in the fifth and Mobile capitalized on his ineffectiveness on the wings of a three-run shot by Ciriaco.

Johnson (0-1) would surrender two singles and a walk before exiting the game. With the bases loaded, Jesus Rodriguez was able to induce a Matt Tupman ground out to end the threat. Back-to-back doubles by Josh Bell and Eddy Perez resulted in another run for the Lookouts.

Mobile stretched their lead to 6-3 in the sixth. Yunesky Sanchez led off with a walk and was followed by singles from Evan Frey and Peter Clifford. Ciriaco struck again with a sacrifice fly to plate Sanchez.

The Lookouts threatened in the ninth but ultimately came away empty handed. With runners on first and second and two outs, Josh Bell singled to put the score at 6-4.

Chattanooga anticlimactically bungled away the game, however, as Josh Bell was picked off of first to end the contest. Daniel Stange, despite playing with fire in the ninth, picked up his tenth save of the season.

Wes Roemer (6-5) was credited with the win for the BayBears. In five innings of work, he yielded three runs on nine hits and two walks, while striking out four.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Mobile BayBears will continue their six-game series at 6:15 P.M. with a doubleheader, tomorrow. Tickets for this game date or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
