Two-Game Home Weekend on Tap for Bucs

The Des Moines Buccaneers are home at Buccaneer Arena for a pair of games this weekend as part of the Dupaco Cowbell Cup series. The Buccaneers host Dubuque on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. CT and Waterloo on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6:00 p.m. CT.

Friday is 2-for-1 Beer Night, with tallboy cans of domestic beer and seltzer at buy one get one prices. It's also a Fareway Friday. Bring any Fareway receipt to the Box Office and get buy one get one pricing on Arena Level tickets.

Saturday features a Corgi Race at the first intermission, plus a general admission ticket deal to benefit AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport in DeSoto, Iowa. All general admission tickets for Saturday's game are on sale for just $8 with $5 of that cost going to AHeinz57. The Buccaneers will also host a Donation Drive for pet supplies and items on the AHeinz57 Wish List. Items can be dropped off at tables in the lobbies of the main entrances near will call and the box office.

Saturday is also one of the Buccaneers Kids Club games! If you're in Kids Club, make sure you bring your lanyard and visit Concession 1 for your treats! It's not too late to join and take advantage of all the fun. Stop by the ticket office for more information, or to pick up your packet if you've already signed up.

Both home games are part of the Dupaco Cowbell Cup series. The Buccaneers are in second place in the Cowbell Cup standings, trailing only Dubuque, and ahead of third place Waterloo and fourth place Cedar Rapids.

Des Moines faced the Fighting Saints in two games last weekend, winning 3-2 on home ice last Friday, before falling 5-2 at Dubuque. The Fighting Saints are the top team in the Eastern Conference and second place overall in the USHL.

The Buccaneers are tied with Waterloo in the Western Conference standings, both teams with 20 points and holding down the 5th and 6th place spots.
