Madison Capitols News Release
The Capitols are set to face off with the Chicago Steel four times in the month of December. Those matchups kick off on Friday night at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena. The first two games against the Steel were also home games for the Caps where each team took home one win.
Both teams come into the weekend looking to snap a losing streak. For Madison, the three-game losing streak does include a two-game point streak coming into Friday. Chicago was swept last weekend by the Fargo Force by scores of 8-0 and 6-0.
To succeed against Chicago this season, the biggest key has been to draw penalties. The Steel enter play this weekend with the worst penalty kill in the league by over six percent as they sit just north of 66% on the season. Their kill was 0/3 last weekend in Fargo.
Fans should be used to seeing this match up not only this season but last as well with the two teams meeting a combined 18 times between this season and last. In those games, Chicago has the slight edge, but Madison was a thorn in the Steel's side last season.
This weekend's games will be the last for Finn Brink and Will Felicio who will be traveling to Nova Scotia to play for the US Junior Selects team starting on December 10th at the World Junior A Challenge. The pair looks to continue the US's winning ways at the event as Madison forward Quinn Finley helped the team take home gold last season.
It's a Dollar Beer Night presented by Coors Light on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Friday night at home and Saturday night on the road. Tickets for Friday are limited but still available at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
