GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday announced the hiring of Randy Rice as public relations assistant and Darreth Rice (no relation) as a ticket sales account executive.
A recent graduate of Grand Valley State University, Randy Rice enters his second season with the Griffins, having spent the 2005-06 campaign as a media relations intern. Darreth Rice comes over to the Griffins after five years with DP Fox Sports & Entertainment's other local franchise, the Grand Rapids Rampage, which she most recently served as ticket sales and service coordinator. From 1999-2001, the Cadillac native twice interned in the ticketing and marketing departments of Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo., while also spending the second half of the 2000-01 season as a ticket operations intern with the Griffins.
Darreth holds a bachelor's degree in business, a teaching certificate, and a master's degree in education, all from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.
