Ak-Sar-Ben Knights Tap Wesolek For Director of Game Operations

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that Jake Wesolek will be the team's new Director of Game Operations. The announcement was made by President Doug Soetaert.

"We were impressed with the wealth of experience Jake has accumulated in his brief career," said Soetaert. "We think he will bring great energy and enthusiasm to the position and help us further enhance the fan experience during our games."

Wesolek comes to the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights from the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League. While there, he served in many marketing and community relations functions and for most of the previous season was the team's Director of Game Day Operations. In his position with the Knights, he will oversee game day activities, coordinating all on-ice and in-arena promotions and activities. He also will play a role in the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' community relations efforts.

"My life revolves around sports, and that's why I'm working in sports," said Wesolek. "I'm looking forward to helping the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights create a fun and exciting atmosphere in the Civic Auditorium this fall and winter."

Wesolek is a native of Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from nearby Central Michigan University in 2002 with a degree in Commercial Recreation and Facility Management.

Season tickets and 22-Game Mini Plans for the 2006-2007 season are on sale now. Season tickets start as low as $10 per seat per game. The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights are currently offering a special on group tickets. Any group of 15 or more that purchases tickets for the home opener on Friday, October 20th, for Saturday, November 4th or Saturday, December 16th will receive complementary tickets in the same seating area for another game during the season. The seats must be reserved and a deposit placed by September 1st.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will release their schedule for the upcoming season during the first week in August.
