TULSA, OK - All good things must come to an end and Wichita goalie Adam Russo did his part to make sure the Oilers point streak stopped at six games. Russo made several sensational stops as the Thunder (10-4-0) earned a hard-fought 4-2 victory over the Oilers (9-5-2) in front of 4,893 at the BOK Center.

Tulsa rookie Jay Sprague opened the scoring for the home team on the powerplay when snapped in a shot off a pretty centering feed by Gary Steffes. Tulsa's powerplay unit now has a goal in each of the last six games. Wichita evened the score with a powerplay marker by Matt Robinson and the score was even at one after the first twenty minutes.

The Oilers powerplay struck again in the second when Gary Steffes re-directed a Jeff Terminesi shot past Russo to give the Oilers a 2-1 edge. Once again the Thunder responded as Andrew Martens shot trickled underneath Tulsa goalie Ian Keserich and was tapped in by Jarred Mohr.

Despite producing more scoring chances in the final frame the Oilers were thwarted at every turn by Russo. The Thunder netminder made 13 of his 27 stops in the final twenty minutes. Aaron Davis' backhander at 14:03 gave Wichita the go-ahead goal and Brett Hemingway wrapped things up for Wichita with an empty net marker at 18:53.

The Oilers won't have to wait long to get back at the Thunder; the teams will meet in Wichita on Saturday night at 7:05pm. Tulsa now leads the season series with Wichita 3-2.
