November 25, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Chad Woollard put Texas ahead in the third period, but the Brahmas could not hold on as they lose their second straight game in overtime 4-3 to Laredo.
It was a back and forth game through the first two periods. The Bucks got on the board first behind an A.J. Hau goal, but the Brahmas evened the match when Brendon Hodge beat Laredo goaltender Ryan Rondeau at the 12:03 mark of the first period.
Adam Rivet put the Bucks ahead 2-1 midway through the second period, but again the Brahmas came back with a goal of their own as Jacques Perreault scored his first goal of the season at the 13:23 mark.
Chad Woollard scored his fourth goal in his last six games to put the Brahmas ahead 3-2 with 13 minutes left in the third period, but Ryan Sparling found the back of the net for Laredo to tie the score at the 15:55 mark.
In overtime, it took Laredo only 35 seconds to end the game as Mark Nebus put the puck past Texas netminder Steve Silverthorn for the game-winner.
Silverthorn made 21 saves on 25 Laredo shots, and Rondeau stopped 22 of 25 shots fired by the Brahmas.
Both teams were shut out on the powerplay, but Texas only had one opportunity and Laredo only had two.
The Brahmas don't have to wait long for a chance at redemption, as they face the Bucks on Saturday night in Laredo. The Brahmas are back at the NYTEX Sports Centre next Friday and Saturday to take on the Allen Americans at 7:30pm both nights.
