
Tucson victorious over Reno

Brandon Allen drove in three of the Padres five runs in Tucson's 5-1 win over the Reno Aces Monday. The Padres split the four-game series with Reno and have won six of eight against the Diamondbacks affiliate this season.
Rene Rivera drove in the first run for the Padres with an RBI double off the left field wall in the first inning. Allen immediately followed with a two-run single to put Tucson ahead, 3-0.
Reno got on the board in the top of the fourth when Matt Davidson scored from second on Alfredo Marte's broken-bat RBI single to right. The Padres responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth on Jesus Merchan's RBI bunt single to bring home Allen. The final run for Tucson came in the eighth on Allen's sacrifice fly to right. The Padres first baseman finished the night 2-for-3 and is now batting .333 in June.
Miles Mikolas closed out the final 1.1 innings to pick up his 12th save of the year. Anthony Bass (1-1) earned his first win with Tucson, pitching five innings and holding Reno to one run on five hits. Reno starter Mike Bolsinger (1-2) was charged with the loss after surrendering six hits and three earned runs in seven innings of work.
