The Tucson Padres split the final series of the 2011 season, as the Reno aces won Monday's game, 12-8. Tucson starter Samuel Deduno had to leave the game in the third inning with an injury and allowed five runs, just one earned, in his 2.2 innings. In the Tucson Padres final defensive inning, second baseman Anthony Contreras came in to pitch and pitcher Matt Buschmann ended up playing right field.

The Padres were a very strong offensive team in 2011 and ended the year with a characteristic offensive performance, pounding out 13 hits along with two walks. Mykal Stokes was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in just his fifth Triple-A game and Pat McKenna went 2-for-4 with his first Triple-A home run. Pedro Feliz went 2-for-5 with an RBI in the cleanup spot for Tucson.

The Padres finished their inaugural season 65-79, in a third place tie with Fresno, 23 games behind first place Sacramento. The Padres' pitching staff had a 5.71 ERA, 13th in the 16 team Pacific Coast League. The Padres' offense scored 810 runs, good for eighth in the PCL.

The Padres will open the 2012 season at Kino Stadium in Tucson on Thursday, April 5.
