Tucson Padres News Release

A.J. Pollock's solo home run in the tenth inning provided the Reno Aces with their second straight walk-off win and a 5-4 victory over the Tucson Padres Sunday at Aces Ballpark.

Reno went ahead in the second inning with Ryan Budde's two-out RBI single to right field. The Aces added three more runs in the bottom of the third on three hits, two stolen bases and a Padres error. Sawyer Carroll brought home the Padres' first run in the fourth inning with a RBI double to center field. Blake Tekotte followed with a two-run home run into the right field bullpen to cut the Aces lead to 4-3.

Daniel Robertson extended his hitting streak to 15 games in the top of the fifth by lining a single to right field. Robertson was later thrown out at home plate attempting to score on Vince Belnome's double. Tucson pitcher Ross Ohlendorf tied the game in the sixth with a RBI infield single. With the score still tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Reno's Adam Eaton nearly ended the game with a single to left field, but Blake Tekotte threw out Tyler Bortnick trying to score to send the game to extra innings.

Ohlendorf had gone six innings without giving up a run until Pollock's solo shot in the tenth to end the game. The loss was Ohlendorf's first with Tucson. Anthony Bass started his third injury rehab game for the Padres, pitching three innings, yielding five hits, three earned runs, and five strikeouts.

Tomorrow is the final game of the Tucson Padres season.
