Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (4-8) took down the Greensboro Swarm (4-8), 110-101, during a matinee showdown Thursday afternoon to closeout a two-game set between the teams.
After losing to the Swarm just two days prior, the Clippers responded with energy and got out to a 45-39 first half lead behind 9 points and 5 assists from Clippers rookie Kobe Brown. The Clippers ballooned their lead to as many as 14 during the third quarter before a fourth quarter run from the Swarm would cut the lead to as little as two points. The Clippers then bounced back with a late 14-6 run that eventually led to their 110-101 victory. The Swarm were unable to overcome their poor shooting night as they shot just 41.5% from the field and 25% from three. The Clippers also dominated the transition game as they outscored the Swarm 17-4 in fastbreak points.
Seven different Clippers finished in double-digits, led by Clippers' assignee Kobe Brown's 22 point, 10 rebound, and 10 assist triple-double. Armoni Brooks also tallied 22 points on five three-pointers. Joshua Primo poured in an additional 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, while fellow backcourt mate Elijah Harkless added 10 points and 8 assists. The Clippers bench proved to be effective as Djordije Jovanovic scored 13 points on three three-pointers and veteran big man Dewayne Dedmon contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Coming off the bench, Terrell Brown Jr. led all Swarm scorers with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting. Four other Swarm players would finish in double-digit scoring including a 16-point, 14 rebound double-double from Jeremiah Tilmon. Jaylen Sims added another 17 points and 6 rebounds, while RJ Hunter and Amari Bailey rounded out the scoring 14 points each.
