
Ignite Drops Series to Rip City

PORTLAND, OR - NBA G League Ignite (0-14) faced defeat against the Rip City Remix (7-3), 110-102, on Wednesday at the Chiles Center in Portland, Ore.
Ignite was led by Ron Holland, who posted a game-high 31 points with six rebounds, two assists and two steals on 12-of-20 shots from the field, including 4-of-6 from the three-point line. Tyler Smith followed with 16 points, three rebounds, three blocks and two assists, while John Jenkins tallied 13 points, four assists and three rebounds. Babacar Sane added 10 points and three rebounds.
George Conditt IV paced the Remix after recording a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting from the field. Antoine Davis also poured in 22 points with four rebounds and two assists on 6-of-13 shooting from behind the arc. Ashton Hagans notched a double-double with 19 points and 12 assists, while D'Moi Hodge finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Ignite struggled in the opening quarter after shooting 32 percent from the field, including 11.1 percent from the three-point line. The Remix took advantage of Ignite's slow start to edge out a six-point lead (29-23) into the second quarter behind a nine-point quarter from Antonie Davis, who shot 3-of-5 from the three-point line. Ignite slowly climbed back in the second period after using a 29-point quarter to take a 52-50 lead at the halfway mark. Down six points with 1:02 remaining in the half, Ignite used an 8-0 run, including back-to-back three-pointer from Tyler Smith, to reclaim the lead. Ignite shot 52.2 percent from the field, including 50 percent from behind the arc in the second quarter. After dealing with foul trouble in the first half, Ron Holland erupted in the third quarter by pouring 18 of his 31 points in the frame on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 from the three-point line. Despite Holland's third-quarter performance, the Remix managed to edge out a two-point advantage (82-80) heading into the fourth quarter. The Remix pulled away after starting the fourth quarter on an 11-0 run to take a 13-point lead, the largest of the game, with 8:01 remaining in regulation. Ignite continued to fight but couldn't overcome its deficit. George Conditt IV scored 12 points in the frame on 6-of-9 shots from the field to help the Remix seal the victory.
