INDIANAPOLIS -- Left hander John Halama held Indianapolis to one run on three hits over seven innings and left fielder Jason Tyner drove in two runs as Buffalo took home a 3-1 victory in front of 7,986 Tuesday evening at Victory Field.

The Bisons improve to 36-43 on the season and 20-23 on the road, while the Indians fall to 38-41 overall and 20-20 at home.

Halama (7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 SO), a veteran of 262 Major League contests, picked up the win to improve to 3-1 on the season. The 35-year-old retired the first eight batters he faced in his longest outing of the season for the Bisons.

Tyner gave Buffalo an early lead with a two-out RBI double in the second inning. The first of three hits for the Bisons' left fielder came on the heels of a single by RF Todd Linden and double by 1B Jordan Brown.

Brown later extended the Bisons lead with an RBI single, which plated SS Asdrubal Cabrera in the third inning. Cabrera (3-for-4, 1 R) continued to sizzle for Buffalo with his second straight three-hit performance, raising his Triple-A batting average to .456.

Cabrera, Tyner (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Brown (2-for-4, 1 R, 1 RBI), and DH Michael Aubrey (2-for-3) all turned in multi-hit efforts for the Bisons, who pounded out 11 base knocks for the second straight contest.

Buffalo RHP Tom Mastny (1.0 IP, 1 SO) picked up his seventh hold, while RHP Jeff Stevens (1.0 IP, 1 BB, 1 SO) worked the ninth for his fifth save of the season.

The only blemish against Buffalo pitching came on a third inning solo home run by C Carlos Maldonado. The long ball was Maldonado's second of the year and extended the team's longest active hitting streak to seven games.

Indianapolis managed only three hits on the night with no individual recording more than one.

Indians RHP John Van Benschoten (4.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO) fell to 7-2 with the loss, while RHP Evan Meek (2.2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 SO) and RHP Chris Hernandez (2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 SO) combined for five shutout innings of relief.

The teams continue their four-game set on Wednesday at 2 p.m. RHP Jeff Harris is scheduled to start for Buffalo, while RHP Bryan Bullington is expected to get the nod for Indianapolis.

The contest will be carried by WXLW-950 AM and www.IndyIndians.com with Howard Kellman and Scott McCauley. The pre-game show begins at 1:40 p.m.

It will be another Business Day Game, where fans can enjoy an afternoon away from the office with clients, co-workers, or friends. Great Clips will have hair stylists on the concourse throughout the afternoon. Haircuts are only $10 and proceeds benefit the National Autism Research Foundation.

The Tribe is also offering a Business Day parking shuttle for each weekday afternoon game at Victory Field.
