Dotterer to Receive Honor

SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs in conjunction with the US Army Syracuse Recruiting Company announced today that Christian Brothers Academy Head Baseball Coach Tom Dotterer has been named the US Army High School Baseball Coach of the Year and will be honored in a pre-game ceremony before tonight's 7:00 PM game versus the Toledo Mud Hens.

Under Dotterer's direction the Brothers finished the season with an overall record of 24-5 capturing the Section III Class B Title and advancing to the NYSPHSAA Semi-final game. In his 29-year coaching career Dotterer has compiled a record of 524-263 including 18 league titles, 10 sectional titles, four state final fours and one State Championship.

In addition to honoring Dotterer tonight the Chiefs will honor all Section III baseball and softball champions on the field before the game.

In addition to the CBA Baseball team others expected to be in attendance include:

The Class D Softball Champion Stockbridge Valley Indians led by head coach Chris Peto finished the season with an overall record of 22-3 capturing their first sectional title since 1993. The Indians finished the season ranked 6th in the final New York State Sportswriter's Association Class D State Rankings.

The Class C Softball Champion Pulaski Devils led by head coach Jill Truax finished the season with an overall record of 24-3 and advanced to the state semi-final game. The Devils finished the season ranked 3rd in the final New York State Sportswriter's Association Class C State Rankings.

The Class B Softball Champion Westhill Warriors led by head coach Jerry Griffo finished the season with an overall record of 22-5 capturing their first ever Class B title. The Warriors finished the season ranked 11th in the final New York State Sportswriter's Association Class B State Rankings
