Kearney, NE - The Tri-City Storm set a new season high for most goals in a single game and also set a new season high for most shots on goal in a single game this season in a 7-4 home win over the Sioux City Musketeers Friday night at the Viaero Center. Nick Portz, Mitchell Miller, Ian Murphy, Colby Ambrosio, Mark Estapa, and Matthew Knies (2) all scored in Tri-City's win. Daniel Allin made 21 saves to record the victory in net. Tri-City returns to action tomorrow night in a road game against Sioux City. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Sioux City scored on its first two shots of the game to take an early 2-0 lead over the Storm. Each of the Musketeers' goals were netted by Sam Stange. Stange scored his 14th and 15th goals of the year at the 0:31 and 2:54 marks of the period. Nick Portz provided Tri-City with a quick answer, scoring his 6th goal of the year at 3:08 of the 1st period. Portz's goal was assisted by Nick Donato and Colby Ambrosio. The goal also set off the team's annual "Teddy Bear Toss" as fans tossed teddy bears onto the ice to benefit first responders and children-focused organizations. Sioux City increased its lead to two goals less than a minute later on David Gucciardi's 1st goal of the year. After trailing by two goals for roughly seven minutes, Matthew Knies gave Tri-City another goal and cut the lead back down to 1. Knies' 5th goal of the year was assisted by Benji Eckerle and was scored at the 11:01 mark of the 1st period. Knies scored another goal with under three minutes to go in the period to tie the game at 3-3. His second goal of the night was scored at 17:38 of the period and was assisted by Nick Portz and Kyle Aucoin. With less than a minute to play in the period, Tri-City captured its first lead of the game on a goal from Mitchell Miller. Miller's second goal of the season was scored with 49 seconds remaining the period and was assisted by Colby Ambrosio and Nick Portz. Tri-City outshot Sioux City 21-10 in the 1st period and carried a 4-3 lead into the 2nd period.

The only goal of the 2nd period was netted by Sioux City's Kirklan Irey on the power play. The goal was scored at the 5:54 mark of the period and tied the game at 4-4. Tri-City outshot Sioux City 11-7 in the 2nd period.

Ian Murphy tipped in his 4th goal of the season just over two minutes into the 3rd period to give Tri-City a 5-4 lead. Murphy's goal was assisted by Kyle Aucoin. After taking another lead in the game, the Storm netted another goal less than a minute later to increase its lead by two. Colby Ambrosio scored his team-leading 14th goal of the season at 3:07 of the 3rd period to give the Storm a 6-4 lead. Ambrosio's goal was assisted by Matthew Knies and Nick Portz. The final goal of the night was scored by Mark Estapa at 18:42 of the 3rd period. The goal was Estapa's 1st Career Goal in the USHL. Daniel Allin made 21 saves on 25 shots to record his 9th win of the season in net for Tri-City.
