
Lancers Defeat Stampede 4-1

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede in game one of the weekend series by a final score of 4-1.
After a scoreless first period, Connor McGinnis (3:12) got the Lancers ahead 1-0 scoring on his ex-team and scoring his first USHL goal. Zach Plucinski (9:39) added to the Lancers lead when he found the puck loose off of a rebound from a Logan Will shot to make the score 2-0. The Lancers went on their third power play of the night and Jack Jensen (15:56) scored his first USHL goal to get Omaha ahead 3-0 to end the second period.
In the third period, Will Dineen (3:20) netted a loose puck to get Sioux Falls their only goal of the night. The Stampede pulled Stauber for the extra attacker late in the period. The Lancers took advantage of the open net with Cole Kodsi (19:45) scoring. The Lancers finished the night winning 4-1 against the Stampede. Kyle McClellan stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced in the win.
The Lancers are now 10-9-5-0 on the season with 25 points.
The Lancers and Stampede return to action tomorrow night in Sioux Falls. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM and all the action can be seen on HockeyTV.
