Tri-City (10-12-2-2) returns home tonight to the Viaero Center in Kearney following two road loses against the Chicago Steel on December 13th & 14th prior to the holiday break. The Storm have not played at home since December 7th and will look to build momentum tonight for the next partition of the season's schedule. Entering the weekend, Tri-City sits in 5th place in the Western Conference standings with 24 points. Only seven points separate 2nd place Fargo (28) and 8th place Sioux Falls (21). Two of the Storm's next three games are at home, with the only road game in the stretch coming tomorrow night at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA. Following tonight's game, Tri-City returns home to the Viaero Center on Tuesday to host the Lincoln Stars in a New Year's Eve matchup. Tonight's game is the second game in the six game regular season series between the Storm and Musketeers. In the only previous matchup this season, Sioux City defeated Tri-City by a final score of 8-2.
Sioux City (9-11-4-0) begin a stretch of play tonight at the Viaero Center that will see the Musketeers play seven of the next ten games on the road. Sioux City has won just two of its last ten games but ended the pre-holiday break segment of the schedule with a 5-0 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Sioux City's power play has proven to be a strength for the team throughout the season. The power play is currently ranked 4th best in the USHL at 19.5%. Tri-City held the Musketeers' power play off the scoreboard in the only previous meeting between the two teams this season on October 18th. Sioux City forward Sam Stange is among the Top 10 scorers in the USHL this season with 13 goals in 24 games played. Following tonight's game at the Viaero Center, Sioux City will return home to host Tri-City tomorrow night at the Tyson Events Center.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio. To purchase tickets to Storm home games at the Viaero Center, visit www.StormHockey.com or call 308-338-8144.
