Tri-City Returns Favor, Shuts out Boise

Tri-City Dust Devils News Release


The Tri-City Dust Devils beat the Boise Hawks 3-0 Friday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (8-8 Second Half) (30-24 Overall) ended a 16 inning scoreless streak in a big way, scoring all three runs in the eighth inning. Tri-City shut out Boise one night after getting shut out by the Hawks (4-12 Second Half) (18-36 Overall).

Carlos Belen had a solo home run that provided the eighth inning scoring spark. Mason Smith had two hits including an RBI double in the eighth. Kodie Tidwell had two hits for Tri-City. Mitch Morales added to the offensive output with an RBI single.

Kevin Padlo had a hit and three stolen bases for Boise. Former Dust Devil Marcos Derkes had a hit and a stolen base.

Tri-City starting pitcher Adrian De Horta pitched five innings. De Horta was solid in his outing, striking out eight batters and giving up just one hit. Sam Holland (2-1) got the win in relief. Holland pitched an inning and struck out two batters.

Starting pitcher David Hill pitched two innings for the Hawks. Hill had four strikeouts and gave up two walks in his outing. Justin Lawrence (0-3) received the loss. He pitched two thirds of an inning, striking out two batters and giving up three runs on four hits.

The Dust Devils and Hawks will play the fourth game of their five game series Saturday night at Gesa Stadium . Weather permitting, there will be postgame fireworks thanks to Yoke's Fresh Market. Newest Dust Devil Emmanuel Ramirez will start the game for Tri-City, while Ryan McCormick will get the start for Boise.
