The Sask First Program was designed to provide a better understanding of the game as well as to promote the development of quality players, coaches, trainers, officials and administrators. Schwartz was selected by Tri-City in the eighth round (173rd overall) in the 2007 Bantam Draft. The 5'7" 150 lb Wilcox, SK-native led the South Saskatchewan Bantam League in scoring after notching 55 goals and 129 points in only 25 games.
