Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The pitching staff was once again dominant on Thursday night as the Tri-City Dust Devils (15-13, 31-35) came away with a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Canadians (12-16, 27-39). The shutout is the second in the last week for Tri-City.
A clutch base hit gave the Dust Devils the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Jason Pineda delivered a two-out RBI single to give Tri-City the early edge. The Dust Devils added to their lead in the bottom of the eighth inning after Jonny Homza drew a walk with the bases loaded. The strikeouts for the Tri-City hurlers kept adding up fadded up again against the the second straight game. One night after getting 15 strikeouts against the Canadians, the Dust Devils had 17 strikeouts in Thursday night's shutout victory.
The homestand will continue for Tri-City on Friday night. The Dust Devils will welcome the Boise Hawks to town to begin a four-game series at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City will send right-hander Nick Thwaits to the mound in the series opener. It will be Faith Night and also a CO-Energy Family Feast Night.
