BOISE, Idaho - Kyle Von Tungeln went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, helping the Tri-City Dust Devils to their fourth-straight win, topping the Boise Hawks, 5-3, before a sellout crowd of 3,952 at Memorial Stadium.

Von Tungeln led off the game with a single and scored on a Francisco Sosa, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. Two innings later, the TCU product doubled and scored on a throwing error to make it 2-0. Sosa followed with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to give the Dust Devils a three-run cushion.

Boise rallied in the fourth on an RBI double from Dong-Yub Kim and an RBI single from Rock Shoulders to close within 4-2, getting within 5-3 in the sixth on an RBI double by Shoulders. However, Josh Hungerman and Seth Willoughby retired the final six men in order to close out the win.

Shane Broyles picked up his first professional win, going five innings, allowing two runs on six hits, fanning six. Willoughby struck out two in the ninth for his first save. Sosa went 2-for-4 in the victory for the Dust Devils.

Willengton Cruz took the loss for the Hawks, allowing all five runs in four-plus innings of work. Felix Pena was outstanding in relief, retiring 11 of the 12 men he faced. Shoulders went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Chadd Krist added three hits in the loss for Boise.

Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night, with Jose Arias meeting T.J. Oakes at 7:15 p.m.

NOTES - Tonight's crowd was the largest at Memorial Stadium since July 4, 2009, when 3,964 fans watched the Hawks lose 8-0 to Eugene...Boise struck out a season-high 13 times in the loss...Shoulders recorded his first-ever multi-hit game as a professional, while Krist recorded his third game with 3-or-more hits in 2012...the loss was the fourth in a row for Boise, their longest losing streak of the season...Xavier Batista went 0-for-4 in the loss, and is now 2-for-30 over his last eight games...Alec Mehrten ended a 1-for-17 drought for Tri-City with a ninth inning single.
