Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

The Tri-City Dust Devils earned the series sweep over the Boise Hawks with a 6-4 win Tuesday night in front of a record crowd of 3,826 at Gesa Stadium. The win gives the Dust Devils their longest winning streak of the season at three games as well as their first sweep of the season.

Tri-City (8-11) starter Peter Tago (1-3) recovered from allowing a run in the first inning to earn his first win of the year. Tago threw five innings, allowing the one run on three hits while striking out five and walking one in his best outing of the season. Righty Eric Federico relieved Tago and pitched very well, throwing three perfect innings. Andrew Brown then came in for the ninth inning for the Dust Devils and secured the Dust Devils' eighth win of the season.

Boise (6-13) starting pitcher Ian Dickson (1-1) lasted just one inning on the mound, allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits as the Dust Devils batted around their entire lineup. Relievers Rafael Diplan, Pete Levitt and Roderik Pichardo combined to finish the game for the Hawks, allowing three runs on five hits over the final eight innings.

Seven of the nine Dust Devils starters had hits and five of the nine scored as Tri-City put in a well-rounded offensive effort. Dust Devils designated hitter Francisco Sosa continued his hot streak at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a run batted in. Outfielder Kyle Von Tungeln, first baseman Miguel De Leon, and catcher Anthony Aguilera also had one run batted in apiece on the night for Tri-City.

The Dust Devils will now head to Boise to take on the Hawks in a three game series beginning Wednesday night. Tri-City returns to Gesa Stadium Saturday July 7th to take on the Spokane Indians in a three game set with the series opener against the Indians including a post-game fireworks show presented by McCurley Integrity Dealerships.
