Trey Ball Joins Salem Red Sox

The Salem Red Sox have received LHP Trey Ball from extended spring training and assigned RHP Adam Lau to extended spring training. The following roster changes have been made:

ADD: LHP Trey Ball

DELETE: RHP Adam Lau

Ball, Boston's first round pick in 2013, is scheduled to make his first start of the season tonight in Frederick. The southpaw was with Salem all of last year, going 9-13 with a 4.73 ERA in 25 starts. He missed the first 20 games of the season while recovering from offseason knee surgery.

Lau earned his third win of the season in last night's 14-7 victory over the Keys. He has appeared in five games, going 3-0 with a 4.35 ERA.

Ball has been assigned number 24. The Red Sox roster sits at the Carolina League maximum of 25 players.
