Trevor Cann Returns To AHL

Tulsa Oilers News Release

Goaltender Trevor Cann has left the Tulsa Oilers, being recalled by the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League. Cann joined the Oilers from Lake Erie in December and played his first game for Tulsa on December 18th, a 2-1 win over Amarillo.

The 2007 second round draft choice of the Colorado Avalanche is 11-6-1 with the Oilers with a 2.81 goals against average and a .915 save percentage.

"We knew there was a good chance Trevor may get recalled to the AHL," Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay said. "He's done a great job for us and got some great experience. We don't know how long he may stay in the AHL and we wish him the best. But we will move on here."

Ramsay says Marty Magers who recently returned from a hand injury will be in goal for the Oilers against Missouri on Tuesday night. Brad Best of Tulsa has been signed as a back-up goaltender for the Oilers.

"Marty has played well for us. We need to keep playing well in front of him," Ramsay said. Magers has the CHL season high for saves in a game when he stopped 54 shots in a 2-1 shootout win at Rio Grande Valley on December 29th.

The Oilers play the first of a home and home series with Missouri Tuesday at the BOK Center at 7:05. They travel to Missouri Thursday. Tickets for all Oilers games are available at the BOK Center box office or by calling 1-866-7-BOK CTR (726-5287). Tickets can also be purchased on line at www.tulsaoilers.com and at area Reasor's Grocery Stores.
