Franck Earns CHL Performance Of The Week

HIDALGO, Texas --- The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rio Grande Valley goaltender Andy Franck has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of February 1-7.

The Killer Bees workhorse made 50 saves in his team's 3-2 shootout win versus Laredo on February 4. Franck made 26 saves in the second period alone and stopped five of seven Bucks shooters in the extra session.

Franck's 50 saves vs. were a CHL season-high while his 26 second-period saves were also a season-high and a franchise record. He enters this week's action leading the CHL in saves (1104) and is second in minutes played (1989:45).

The Lakewood, Ohio native earned 1,061 votes accounting for 54% of the 1,964 total votes cast. Coming in second place was Texas' Jordan Cameron who scored the game winning goal for the Brahmas with just 15 seconds remaining in their win at Bossier-Shreveport on February 6. Cameron received 754 votes good for 38% of the total.

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week 18 of the season for the period beginning on February 8 and ending on February 14 are as follows:

-Rapid City erasing multiple goal deficits to go 2-0-1 in games versus Odessa and Colorado on February 12,13 and 14.

-Texas' Brett Jaeger making 28 saves in shutout of Laredo on February 12

-Missouri's Karl Sellan scoring franchises' first hat trick in 6-1 win over Mississippi on February 13

-Corpus Christi's Justin Quenneville recording four points (2-24) in 5-2 win versus Bossier-Shreveport on February 13

-Bossier-Shreveport's Simon Mangos scoring two goals just 38 seconds apart in 3-1 win at Missouri on February 11

Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, February 23 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, February 24.
