TULSA, Oklahoma - The Missouri Mavericks defeated the Tulsa Oilers, 4-3, in a shootout Tuesday night at BOK Center in a pivotal Northern Conference matchup. Oilers' forward Jake Riddle had a pair of goals as Tulsa fell to 24-20-4 on the season.
"It was another solid performance by Charlie (Effinger)," said Mavericks' Head Coach Scott Hillman. "I was disappointed with our special teams, but most importantly we earned the two points and we will go back to work tomorrow."
Mavericks' goaltender Charlie Effinger won his third straight game by stopping 27 of 30 shots including four of five in the shootout. All three goals for the Oilers were specials teams goals. Tulsa finished 2-8 on the power play and Troy Riddle added a shorthanded goal. Missouri finished 0-10 with the man advantage.

At the 11:02 mark, Braden Walls notched his fourth of the season on assists from Pallardy and Watson. Missouri held the 2-0 lead going into the first intermission, but gave up the lead in the second period.
